ATO support during COVID-19

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has updated its website with tailored information and support for businesses, employers, employees and individuals during COVID-19.
For businesses and employers this includes information about boosting cash flow, business incentives, JobKeeper payment and instant asset write-off.
For individuals, ATO resources include information about changes to tax and superannuation that have become law following the passage of the Government’s Economic Support Package.
The new site ato.gov.au/coronavirus also guidance on lodgment and payment and varying PAYG instalments.
For the building and construction sector, the ATO has also prepared industry resources to advise workers about what they can and can’t claim at tax time.
- Construction Worker Tax Time Poster – This poster provides helpful information on which expenses building and construction workers can and cannot claim at tax time.
- Building and Construction Toolkit – This toolkit contains five posters (apprentice, construction worker, engineer, office worker and tradie) and a general work-related expense guide for the building and construction sector.
