As of 1 December 2025, changes will be introduced by Building Commission NSW (BCNSW) to how electricians submit Certificates of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW).

BCNSW has created a digital platform called BCNSW eCert portal. The portal, which can be accessed via the web browser on mobile, tablet or a desktop computer, has been designed to make the submission of CCEWs faster and easier.

From 1 March 2026, BCNSW eCert portal will replace the existing process of paper and PDF form submissions. Meaning, no more requirements to print, scan or email certificates. The portal can be accessed via mobile, tablet, laptops and desktop computers, allowing electricians to submit in the office, at home or on-site.

Electricians can access, register and start submitting through the portal from 1 December. Certificates that are submitted through the portal automatically send to Building Commission NSW, the customer and the distributor.

You can feel assured that all CCEWs will be stored in the one place, reducing admin tasks and making record keeping easier.

BCNSW will be hosting helpful webinars for trades to attend to learn how to use the portal, ask questions and provide feedback.

We encourage members to click here to register for the upcoming webinar to learn more about the process.
