After a long advocacy campaign by TasNetworks, supported by MEA, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has granted TasNetworks a ring-fencing waiver.

This allows the utility to record private underground electricity cable asset information in the Before You Dig Australia system. 

Electrical contractors are reminded that council consent must still be obtained before commencing any underground connections.
