Powerwall 2 Product Safety Recall Update

We have contacted Solar Homes customers and retailers to notify them of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) product safety recall of the Tesla Powerwall 2, issued on 16 September. Tesla has identified certain lithium-ion battery cells from a third-party supplier in a subset of Powerwall 2 systems that may fail and overheat.

This recall affects only a limited number of installations. Telsa has also notified impacted customers and remotely discharged most units. Retailers can assist by asking customers to follow the instructions on the ACCC Product Safety website.
