NSW Moves to Digital CCEW Lodgement by March 2026 

The NSW Building Commission has announced the move to an electronic CCEW lodgement system, marking a major shift towards fully digital compliance for the state's electrical industry. 

 Key milestones include: 

 * December 2025: The new electronic CCEW system is expected to go live. 

 * 1 March 2026: 

 * Electrical Contractors will no longer be able to submit handwritten or PDF CCEW forms all lodgements must be completed electronically through the new platform. 

 * The existing Smart Meter Tool will be phased out. 

 * Mid-2026: Installers will be able to submit CCEWs for new and upgraded solar and battery installations through the NSW Consumer Energy Resources (CER) Installer Portal. 

 MEA congratulates the Building Commission on this important milestone and thanks the Department for working collaboratively with industry stakeholders, including MEA.  We will continue to work closely with the Commission to ensure a smooth transition.
