ATO Steps Up Support for Australians Doing it Tough 

Having a hard time financially and need better support to manage your tax payments? 

Good news – the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has introduced its new Vulnerability Framework, making it easier for people doing it tough to access fair and compassionate help when managing their tax obligations. 

Under the new framework, the ATO will: 

  *  Use friendlier, more inclusive language 

  *  Train staff to be kind, flexible and trauma-aware 

  *  Provide better options for those who don’t use the internet easily 

  *  Focus on supporting people who face extra barriers in life.
