The Western Australian Government has announced a new round of funding in 2026 under the Women in Non-Traditional Trades (WiNTT) Scholarship program, offering 100 scholarships valued at $5,000 each.
The scholarships are designed to support women undertaking training or employment in traditionally male-dominated trades, including construction and electrical occupations. Funding can be used to help offset practical barriers that often deter participation, such as course and training fees, tools, workwear, transport and childcare costs.
This initiative is a practical step toward broadening workforce participation at a time when the sector continues to face acute skills shortages. By easing entry-level cost pressures, the program aims to support more women to commence, continue and complete trade pathways.
