The unit VU23631 Work Safely on Roofs with Renewable Energy Systems is available through the Free TAFE program until 18 December 2025. This unit is a mandatory requirement for on-site workers installing rooftop solar, battery storage or solar hot water systems under Victoria’s Solar Homes Program.

Delivered as part of the nationally accredited 22657VIC Course in Working Safely on Rooftop Renewable Energy Systems, the training equips participants with the skills to:

• Identify rooftop hazards
• Conduct risk assessments
• Apply effective control measures
• Meet occupational health and safety compliance requirements

 Holmesglen is currently the only TAFE offering this unit under Free TAFE. The course also is available through Solar Training Centre on a fee-for-service basis, including private group bookings.
